Job Title:Senior Associate Trade Finance / Forfaiting &Receivables

Overview:

  • Provide a complete service to the Banks Customers to a high level of administration and service.
  • Ensure that transactions allocated are properly implemented independently controlled and diligently monitored.
  • Work together with your team clients CTS relationship managers/ marketing/account officers and other departments of the Bank where necessary.
  • Familiarize oneself with different products an methods in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • To provide a professional and timely response to enquiries received from internal and external customers of the department.

What You Will Be Doing:

Core Forfaiting and Receivable duties

  • General daily administration duties including purchase of different Trade Finance Products for example Promissory Notes Bills of Exchange and Receivables under Forfaiting structures checking of documentation rate fixing discounting fees roll overs payments cancellation collection of funds in accordance with agreed and documented processes and guided by experienced team members.
  • General daily administration duties under Master Receivable Financing Agreements including checking drawdown documentation and limits rate fixes discount calculations fees maturity extensions payments cancellation receipt of funds allocation of funds credit notes early repays and part payments in accordance with agreed and documented processes and guided by experienced team members.
  • Review facility documentation for understanding and operational feasibility in conjunction with the internal and external stakeholders (as appropriate) and guided by experienced team members covering:
  • Purchase and Sale contracts (various)
  • Receivable Financing Facilities
  • Committed/Uncommitted Disclosed/Undisclosed
  • Master Risk Participation Agreements
  • Participation Agreements
  • Framework Agreements
  • Discounting Agreements

In accordance with LMA and BAFT standard terms and conditions and if necessary Legal approval.

  • Prepare Sales/Participations from point of request from GTDD desk through documentation exchange execution and monitoring (Psuedo Agency role) and be guided by experienced team members.
  • Position and create payments in relation to Forfaiting & Receivable Trade Finance Products within currency cut off times.
  • Escalation of breaches red flags and other issues including nonperforming transactions to your reporting line/Head of Department/Support manager in accordance with documented processes. Any OREs to be reported to your reporting line/Head of Department/Support Manager immediately.

Other

  • Familiarize oneself with different Banks systems.
  • Accurate records kept on all departmental matters within the Banks systems.
  • Daily Nostro and Account Reconciliations are actioned.
  • Reports Daily MI. Customer and Relationship Managers Ad Hoc reports and overdue reports.
  • Communicate with and assist internal and external stakeholders.
  • participate in project work and continuous improvement developments for the department.
  • Annual review of Policy and Procedures and highlight any process you perform missing from procedures/suggest any ideas of improvements to your line manager.
  • Provide information to senior members of the team for audit requests.
  • Maintain original documentation register.
  • Archiving.
  • AdHoc duties as requested by Senior members of the team/Head of Department/ Support Manager.

Candidate Specification:

  • Basic knowledge of word and excel skills.
  • Previous work experience in a Trade Finance function essential (minimum two years) is highly desirable.
  • The ability to remain calm whilst under pressure from the business and clients.
  • Accurate and methodical.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Foreign language skills are an advantage and highly desirable not essential.
