WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Territory Development Specialist (TDS) you will identify target customers and make initial contact with potential buyers of our clients warehouse products and services. The Territory Development Specialist will develop and maintain high level relationships with target clients to establish our clients business relationships. Specifically a Territory Development Specialist is responsible for generating new business to meet our clients growth goals and ensure all available pallet space is filled across our network of temperaturecontrolled hazardous materials compliant warehouses.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is selfdriven to cultivate and prospect new clients and develop strategies to increase sales and profit by prospecting new opportunities within the assigned market.
  • Can conduct market research to produce competitive market targeting strategies.
  • Become highly conversant in our client solutions products and scope of services.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to drive gain buy in and collect feedback on high impact opportunities.
  • Can work with peers in the Customer Solutions group to develop negotiation strategies and present solutions to meet customer needs and provide followup to ensure that the customers expectations are met.

SCOPE AND RESPONSABILITIES

Some of your duties will include:

  • Identify and reach out to potential customers with a primary focus on maximizing the occupancy of empty pallet positions within our warehouse network to meet their specific needs.
  • Arrange and conduct detailed service overviews with potential clients to highlight the comprehensive warehouse services offered by our client emphasizing the opportunity to fill vacant pallet spaces.
  • Develop relationships with new customers with high demand storage needs for prepackaged chemicals and gases and sell available space throughout our diverse network of temperaturecontrolled hazardous materials compliant warehouses.
  • Actively participate in industry events and trade shows to pinpoint potential sales opportunities and effectively convert leads into offering presentations that emphasize filling empty pallet positions.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have the following:

We are looking for the right candidate with exposure to the areas below. Heavy consideration will be given to demonstrated Competencies Communication and Other Qualifications.

  • Experience with winning new customer accounts in logistics; specifically in the warehousing market.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic selling techniques including previous experience in articulating/presenting multiple products and services to executives both verbally and written.
  • Must be selfmotivated to prospect with excellent negotiation skills a must.
  • Ability to close new business deals.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications Economics or related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • 4 years of new customer development selling third party logistics solutions and pallet space; experience selling temperaturecontrolled hazardous materials compliant warehouse space is preferred

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to communicate with prospective customers possessing a solid work ethic and high integrity.
  • Understands and embraces the value of communication and building strong relationships.
  • Outstanding verbal written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
  • Strong ability for creating understanding and responding to RFQs RFIs and RFPs.
  • Ability to speak effectively and persuasively before individuals and groups.
  • Urgency and composure under pressure/stressful situations

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel Word PPT etc.) required.
  • Salesforce software Experience required.
  • Other SORs as required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset a must
  • Courage not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • High degree of initiative; translating objectives into organized tasks and projects. Takes lead to drive projects and initiatives to completion on time every time
  • Excellent work ethic

Youll also need to be able to:

  • Travel up to 50% of the time as needed for business.
  • Read write speak and comprehend the English language.
  • See both distance and details at close range within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including occasionally arriving early staying late on a moments notice and occasional evening and weekend work.
