Purpose of Role :

This role would suit either a Tax Manager currently working in practice looking to gain experience working in an inhouse role or someone already working inhouse to widen their experience.

Reporting to Financial Controller Americas with a dotted line to the UKbased Group Head of Tax the Tax Manager Americas will be responsible for all aspects of tax compliance planning and reporting. This role involves ensuring compliances with all applicable tax laws and regulations working with Global Finance in developing and implementing tax strategies specific to the region to minimize liabilities and providing taxrelated guidance to the commercial finance and operational leadership. Collinson actively encourages the implementation of innovative technology solutions and is currently undertaking a global Finance Transformation project which creates a unique opportunity for this person to trial and implement tax technology solutions to drive efficiencies in the compliance processes especially with regard to Sales Taxes There will also be the opportunity to partner with the different business units within Collinson to provide Americas related US tax input into cross border commercial transactions. Where specialist knowledge is required (either in the US or elsewhere in the region) this role will own and manage the relationship with those outsourced tax specialists.

Your duties and responsibilities:

    • Build relationships with the external tax advisors in the region and manage them to deliver the direct and indirect tax compliance process ensuring that all relevant tax filings are filed accurately and on time. Ensure all tax payments are made on time.
    • Work to implement a tax forecasting process for the region to feed into the global tax forecasting process.
    • Partner with the business to provide US and Americas tax input into crossborder commercial transaction and other operational tax queries.
    • Provide tax support to the business and to the Group Head of Tax in respect of various projects that the Group may undertake.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant business stakeholders in the Americas US to ensure timely communications regarding any transaction that may have tax consequences and tax planning opportunities. Communicate tax recommendations to appropriate departments and implement planning ideas as required alongside Group Tax.
    • Work to build and document endtoend tax risk management processes in the region and establish control processes to ensure internal compliance.
    • Working with Group Tax and local advisors to manage the Americas US aspects of transfer pricing compliance and documentation obligations.
    • Working with Group Tax to manage the successful resolution of tax audits in the region and keeping senior management informed of progress.
    • Manage advisors who will prepare the tax notes for statutory financial statements.
    • Building a framework to ensure you stay abreast of new tax laws and policy changes in the region to ensure ongoing and proactive compliance for the group.
    • Partner with Accounting Legal Treasury and business teams to execute complex transactions and support other areas in the company requiring tax guidance including but not limited to sales and use tax property tax income franchise tax payroll compensation and benefits 1099 reporting etc.

    • Demonstrates suitable of relevant experience in tax including experience with tax compliance and planning
    • Strong technical ability across US sales & use taxes Federal corporate tax and State taxes as appropriate
    • Knowledge of tax filing requirements in countries within Peru Brazil and other major countries within South America preferred.
    • Experience in automating tax processes would be an advantage.
    • Ability to take ownership of and lead regional tax workstreams.
    • Strong communication skills and resilience.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex issues.
    • Proficiency in tax software Excel PowerPoint and Word
