As a Tax Accountant you will be tasked with the precise processing of client transactions in alignment with the unique requirements of each engagement which may vary depending on the specific needs of the client. Your proficiency in utilizing Xero and QuickBooks will be crucial encompassing transactional processing as well as the creation and modification of reports.

• At least 3 years of experience in Australian Tax and Accounting;
  
• Experience in BAS/IAS preparation;
  
• With experience in cash flow forecasting financial reporting and bank reconciliation;
  
• Proficiency in using XERO.
  
• Excellent written & verbal skills;
  
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  
• High Attention to detail.
  
• Proficiency with Xero and QuickBooks including transactional processing creating/modifying reports and system administrative tasks;
  

Financial Processing

• Processing of client transactions as per each specific engagement (these may vary depending on client needs);
  
• Preparation of BAS IAS PAYG WorkCover payroll tax and superannuation reports;
  
• Processing monthend expense accruals;
  
• Maintaining records of bank loans and equipment leases;
  
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets in line with reporting deadlines;
  
• Preparation of evidentiary workpapers including attachment of files to transactions as necessary.
  
• Maintenance of Reconciliations
  
• Preparation of monthend Balance Sheet reconciliations including Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and bank accounts and investigation of reconciling items;
  
• Processing correcting journal entries where required;
  
• Awareness and identification of key reconciliations and highrisk balances;
  
• Reconciliation of credit card statements.
  

BAS/IAS & Tax Preparation

• Preparation of Income Tax Returns for individuals partnerships companies and trusts;
  
• Preparation of BAS/IAS as directed by the Accounting team based on information provided by clients and the engagement;
  
• Ensuring the preparation of these documents is in line with ATO deadlines client expectations and the turnaround times set by the Accounting team s KPIs;
  
• Maintaining clients accounts payable/receivable ledgers as part of the monthly processing process;
  
• Monitoring bank statements/transactions to ensure scheduled payments have been made and ensure no erroneous transactions have occurred.
  

Workflow

• Meeting turnaround time deadlines as set by Adelaide offices;
  
• Proactive communication with the Adelaide office around progress against key set tasks;
  
• Attending all team meetings (virtual) with the Adelaide office;
  
• Following workflow processes as instructed by Adelaide offices.
  

Process and System Improvement

• Continuous review of work practices and recommend ways in which practices systems and/or processes can be improved;
  
• Identification and/or participation in activities that address improving performance within the business.
  
• Adherence to Internal Policies / Practices
  
• Adherence to company policy with respect to human resource practices;
  
• Adherence to company policy with respect to document security and privacy responsibilities outlined by the client;
  
• Understanding and acting within the client s Core Values.
