Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Software Requirements Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing and managing software requirements specifications for a commercial medical device product.
Description:
Draft clear and concise software requirements specifications (SRS) with Rationale following EARS and/or INCOSE guide to writing Requirements that capture functional nonfunctional and performance aspects.
Create Verification trace matrix and Requirement trace matrix to trace software requirements to parent subsystems and systemlevel requirements ensuring alignment throughout the development lifecycle.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS Jama Connect).
Key Responsibilities:
Write and maintain software requirements specifications (SRS) that clearly define the functional and nonfunctional requirements of the system
Trace software requirements to parent subsystem and system requirements and generate verification trace matrix.
Develop rationale for each requirement explaining the need and justification for its inclusion
Create user stories and test cases to verify and validate the software requirements
Shadow other system engineers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the system design and development process
MustHaves:

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the medical device industry
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. IEC 62304 ISO 13485)
Experience with user story mapping and test case development
Skills:
Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in drafting and editing software requirements specifications.
Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g. FDA ISO 13485) related to medical devices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
Experience with tools such as Jama Connect DOORS JIRA Confluence and Visio.
Relevant certifications (e.g. IREB CPRE CBAP) are a plus.
