About the Opportunity:

The Sr. Help Desk System Administrator will provide for deployment and ongoing support of server and desktop hardware and software support for multiple locations around a military facility. Provide information technology support for more than 600 computer users server and desktop hardware and software email accounts Internet local area network Virtual Private Network (VPN) ICS (Industrial Control Systems)/SCADA virtualized server environments enclaves domains and overall information technology system administration within the NIPR (NonSecure Internet Protocol Router unclassified) computer peripheral hardware devices. Installing testing and directing the operation of server software and computer hardware: troubleshooting systems and equipment errors along with connectivity problems. Provide customer service support for local area network data file administration and communications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of servers SANs and associated network infrastructure equipment
  • Manage VMware virtualized server environments
  • Microsoft SQL Server Database Management
  • Backup and restoration of all server systems
  • Disaster Recovery/COOP
  • Create manage and maintain grant/deny/remove user access and close user group and local email and network accounts as needed
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • ArcGIS Enterprise server management
  • ArcGIS Portal server management
  • IIS configuration and management
  • SCADA system management and troubleshooting
  • Wonderware SCADA software
  • Rockwell Studio 5000
  • Apply Army Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) to properly configure hardware and software
  • Configure troubleshoot and maintain handheld client devices (including but not limited to iPhones).
  • Manage user permissions to network resources security groups distribution lists and network stored data structures as requested by proper authorities.
  • Report track respond correct and account for IT threats and vulnerabilities as tasked by DoD authority organizations.
  • Prepare workstations for remote and onsite deployment including software configuration.
  • Provide troubleshooting of sites via telephone and/or use of remote control tools.
  • Track deployment of assets via inventory system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security Certification is required
  • A server certification to meet the computing environment certification requirement
  • 5 years of experience with both servers and workstations in a complex help desk/system administration function must have Baseline and Computing Environment Certifications as specified in the Army Training and Certification Tracking Systems (ATCTS)
  • Must have a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a requirement for this clearance level)

Skills Knowledge Exp.

  • Technical experience with setup configuration and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2012 R2 servers and Windows 10 PCs required.
  • PowerShell VBScript NT Shell scripting
  • Use of Remedy software or Trouble Ticket System.
  • Understanding of Active Directory Domains networks virtualization ICS
  • Experience with local and network printer support
  • Professional attitude strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Enjoy/thrive working in a team environment
  • Superior attention to detail and problemsolving skills
