Surgical Gastroenterologist

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing surgical interventions for conditions such as esophageal cancer gastrointestinal tumors and other complex digestive disorders
• Conducting endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic mucosal resection
• Providing preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Participating in clinical research and staying updated with the latest advancements in surgical gastroenterology
• Educating patients on treatment options surgical procedures and postoperative care
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety
• Diagnosing and managing complex gastrointestinal conditions through a combination of clinical evaluation imaging and laboratory tests

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Residency training in general surgery
• Fellowship training in surgical gastroenterology
• Board certification in general surgery and gastroenterology
• Valid state medical license
• Demonstrated surgical expertise in complex gastrointestinal procedures
• Proven track record of successful clinical outcomes
• Experience in endoscopic interventions and interpretation of endoscopic findings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic healthcare environment
