On Demand Division

The On-Demand business is a specialist medical supply business that sources and distributes pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and consumable supplies to healthcare professionals in over 160 countries worldwide. We have offices in Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand. The company's main divisions encompass everything from International Sales through Sales to NGO's and Charities, Clinical Trials Supply, Imported (Unlicensed Medicines), Sexual Health Supplies, and the storage and distribution of medical products and devices for third parties.

Objective:

The Supply Chain Specialist will work alongside the UK Buying Lead to protect and grow the procurement margin for Durbin PLC. The Supply Chain Specialist will play a key role participating in cross-functional teams to support global supplier evaluation and selection to optimise company-wide procurement initiatives within the assigned category. Some flexibility is required as the role may change in line with the needs of the business as the marketplace evolves.

The successful individual will be results oriented with a proven track record delivering solutions and will bring a positive attitude. Communication skills, an ability to influence a variety of colleagues and the capability to drive value from analytics is essential. Successful candidates must be able work to effectively in a rapidly changing environment and meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for placement and maintenance of purchase orders in Access Supply Chain covering both stocked/non-stocked lines.
  • Forecasting with approved suppliers.
  • Lead the sourcing function where appropriate.
  • Managing end to end collaboration with all relevant parties from point of order to point of delivery/fulfilment (Durbin stock management and Procurement processes)
  • Ensure Durbin stock is managed efficiently to guarantee customer demand is always met and to mitigate against obsolete stock.
  • Creating and providing feedback on monthly reports.
  • Support manager to ensure department procurement targets are achieved each month.
  • Follow best practice source to pay process and drive process creation/improvement
  • Data management, lead the upload and maintenance of all supplier product price files to ensure Access Supply Chain offers the best and most up to date information.
  • Conduct ad hoc project requests in line with manager to include price comparison exercises.
  • Escalate all issues in a timely manner and present (where possible) solutions.
  • Work closely with all other members of procurement team and cross functional teams to effectively run the day to day operations of Durbin stock management and procurement processes.
  • Management of key internal stakeholders, Operations, Quality, Finance, HR
  • Ensure relationships with suppliers are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Work with team in development and discussion of best processes.
  • Oversee the efficient management of stock to guarantee customer demand is always met. Ensure Durbin UK are partnering with high quality vendors, guaranteeing access to high quality products and continuity of supply for patients
  • Routine analysis of competitors/market activity
  • Responsible for building upon and continuously implementing key risk mitigation strategies for stock and access to product
  • Report on core areas monthly
  • Champion of continuous process improvement
