Salary of up to 39000 per annum based on a full time 40 hours per week contract.


Due to expansion within the business we are looking for a Supervising Social Worker who is enthusiastic patient and reliable to join our team in Somerset covering the Southwest Area.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

There are many roles and responsibilities of a Supervising Social Worker:

  • Recruit assess and monitor the suitability of Foster Carers.
  • Support Foster Carers to evidence their competence against training standards.
  • Provide and record regular supervision in line with the agencys operational standards.
  • Undertake support visits.
  • Contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews within required timescales.
  • Ensure that the Foster Carers have an accurate and up to date Foster Care Agreement
  • Identify learning and development needs
  • Undertake initial visits and carer assessments
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers children and young people.
  • Assist in the delivery of training.
  • Out of Hours duty system on a rota basis 35 per day.
What we are looking for from you:
  • CQSW Diploma in Social Work or BA in Social Work.
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • A knowledge of legislations relevant to children and families.
  • Be able to work under pressure with competing demands.
  • Demonstrate initiative and selfreliance.
  • Flexible approach to providing effective support to Foster Carers.
  • A commitment to personal selfdevelopment and training.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Professional organisation.
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.


Requirements

  • CQSW Diploma in Social Work or BA in Social Work (Essential)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car with business insurance (Essential)
  • Relevant Post Qualifying Awards (Desirable)
