SUMMARY

Superintendent is responsible for the field work on a few projects ensuring that company policies and procedures are met in regards to safety environmental compliance quality scheduling budget and customer satisfaction.

Job responsibilities include all types of marine construction including pile driving seawall construction bridges dredging concrete and heavy lifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Provide supervisory direction of crew workers. Manage the execution and performance of productivity safety quality and adherence to schedule for each assignment.
  • Organize and schedule the work force; assign oversee and follow up on performance of work.
  • Work with the owners to develop and maintain the Project Schedule.
  • Assist owners with the development of Project Plans Work Element Plans and Safety documents.
  • Develop and establish checklists for inspections equipment maintenance emergency response etc.
  • Instruct and train employees subcontractors and others in safe and efficient methods of construction.
  • Coordinate and maintain equipment required for the project.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethical behavior encourages ethical behavior in others supports ethical decisions and actively seeks appropriate resolution to potential ethical conflicts.
  • Ensures compliance with our companies Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises crews on a construction site.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies procedures and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing hiring training; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform satisfactorily the essential duties and responsibilities noted above. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Field experience should include a minimum of 5 years experience as a Superintendent role as Carpenter Pile Driver or Operator.
  • Must have hands on field experience as well as supervisory experience in a specific construction discipline (Marine construction structures heavy lifts or concrete experience preferred).

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have a valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
  • OSHA Certification preferred
  • Fall Protection Competent Person preferred
