As a Steel Estimator you can expect each day to be dynamic and challenging. In this role you will be responsible for interpreting project drawings and specifications conducting material takeoffs and preparing accurate cost estimates for steel projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders including project managers engineers and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of your estimates. Being detailoriented and analytical is essential in this role as you will be expected to analyze project requirements evaluate pricing options and provide recommendations to optimize costs. Additionally you will need to stay uptodate with industry trends market conditions and new technologies to make informed decisions.

To excel a strong skillset and proficiency in certain software and tools are essential. Successful candidates should possess excellent analytical and mathematical abilities allowing them to accurately interpret project drawings and specifications. Attention to detail is key as you will be responsible for conducting precise material takeoffs and cost estimations. Proficiency in computeraided design (CAD) software is crucial for creating detailed project layouts and collaborating with architects and engineers. Additionally knowledge of construction estimation software such as Bluebeam or OnScreen Takeoff is highly beneficial.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively liaising with project teams suppliers and clients. The ability to negotiate and collaborate is essential in obtaining accurate information and ensuring the success of projects. A customercentric mindset is also important as you will be focused on delivering costeffective solutions that meet client requirements.
