Sr Staff Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant with a focus on the agriculture industry to join our dynamic team. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting various accounting functions specific to agricultural operations including financial reporting cost analysis and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles combined with a deep understanding of agricultural practices and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements for agricultural operations ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Conduct detailed analysis of agricultural production costs including labor materials and equipment usage to support decisionmaking and improve profitability.
• Assist in monthend and yearend close processes for agricultural entities including journal entries accruals and adjustments.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including agronomists operations managers and sales teams to provide financial insights and support strategic planning initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members fostering a collaborative and highperforming team environment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies procedures and internal controls specific to agricultural operations.
• Stay updated on changes to accounting standards and regulations relevant to the agriculture industry and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
• Conduct research and analysis on agricultural accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting with a focus on the agriculture industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and familiarity with relevant accounting standards specific to agriculture.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with agricultural management software preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
