(Sr) Shipbuilding engineer

And at the end, nothing would beat the triumphant feeling of having the result in front of you hours later. What started as a simple picture, became real.

Tasks

As a Shipbuilding Engineer you are responsible for drawing, modeling and constructing the structural design of steel hulls and/or aluminum deckhouses. Based on the design, you make construction and workshop drawings in the advanced software program Cadmatic.

Your work includes:

• Diving a yacht into several sections, and you make detailed construction drawings for each section.
• You work closely together with other colleagues on the same project.
• All drawings that you create in detail come to life in the production hall, where your own design changes into something tangible.

Requirements

You completely manage your own work. You are coordinating and continuously working on the manufacturability and feasibility of the engineering. You are proactive,
flexible and like to take the initiative. You identify challenges during the engineering phase and come up with solutions. You have strong communication skills in your relationship with project teams, customers and suppliers.

In addition, you preferably have:

• A completed (technical) Bsc or Msc education, for example Shipbuilding or Maritime Technology

• Extensive experience in working with 3D engineering software, for example Siemens NX and/or Nupas Cadmatic

• Experience in yacht/shipbuilding, but if you don't have that, extensive experience in engineering within other specialisms is also welcome.

• A passion for yacht building and luxury superyachts

• You have strong communication skills in English, both in speaking and
  writing. Dutch is a preference

• Excellent primary and secondary working conditions
