Sr Process Controls Engineer

USALCO Baltimore Plant LLC is a major unit within the manufacturing network of a leading provider of aluminumbased component products used in water treatment pulp paper and catalyst manufacturing and the housing market and other sectors. JOB SUMMARY:

The holder of this staff position must be an enterprising individual with a broad range of skills who is personally and professionally motivated to drive continuous economic and process improvements. The Sr. Process Controls Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager. The position requires a motivated detail oriented and results driven team player who:

• Is a solid secure and effective manager of people processes and projects.
• Versed in Siemens TIA Portal S7 PLC platform and process programming.
• Deliver conceptual and detailed designs for specific project requirements.
• Will provide regular timely written and verbal reports to colleagues at all organizational levels using an effective lowkey communication style.

This person primarily assists the Engineering Manager while also supporting and responding to requests from the Plant Managers as well as the Project Management departments. The employee in this position will be a positivenatured taskoriented individual with operating and administrative experience. The person must possess excellent communication and people skills necessary to work with all departments at the site. The individual will be a creative and entrepreneurial thinker.

Key responsibilities include:

• Meeting all safety requirements of job functions being performed and ensuring contractors under your supervision follow all OSHA safety standards.
• Working closely with site management team and employees to determine their needs to prioritize and improve processes opportunities within the site.
• Using a continuous improvement mindset to help increase safety quality profitability efficiency and productivity through technology personnel training and process improvement.
• Must be able to work overtime provide physical labor and work changing shifts as required to meet business requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of business goals and objectives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

• Green Field design and building
• Modification of existing systems
• Maintenance of existing equipment troubleshooting firmware updating hardware and software
• Oversee Contractors
• Staff Augmentation
• Project Support
• Controls Documentation (panel wiring I/o BOM etc...)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Requires organizational and planning skills
• Must be dependable flexible and able to respond on short notice to satisfy the requirements of customers.
• Requires good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude
• Well written

EDUCATION:

• A BS Degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Electrical Chemical Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing environment preferred
• 8 years of experience.
• PLC experience (Design ProgramLadder & Trouble shooting)
• SCADA experience (Data Collection Data Historian Network Design & Security)
• Instrumentation experience (Flow Temperature Pressure etc...)
• Ability to effectively work with Microsoft Office Applications at a highlevel proficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Ability to:

• Lift 50 to 75 lbs.
• Stand 60 to 70% of time.
• Routinely traverse the 20acre site to various buildings
• Routinely must traverse stairs ship ladders catwalks and close quarters
