Who we are looking for

As the EMEA network Operations lead reporting into the Global Network Operations Manager, the Sr. Network Operation Engineer will drive the stability, availability and resilience of the EMEA branch, data center, and external-facing networks. You will help manage service providers, assist in trouble-shooting, respond to incidents and escalations, and help develop best practices, operating porcedures and monitoring strategies. As a peer to Engineering and Service Delivery colleagues, you will review project plans, changes, and the roll-out of new solutions to articulate operational support requirements. You will also collaborate with your peers globally in recommending and implementing service improvements. The network technologies in scope will included DC fabric, SDWAN, WLAN, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, DNS/IPAM, Internet and cloud-connectivity, unified communications platforms, voice recording, SIP trunk/gateways, etc..

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.


What you will be responsible for

As a Senior Network Operations Engineer you will
Safeguard the stability, availability, and resilience of all State Street network infrastructure in EMEA
Act as the primary internal escalation point for incidents in EMEA, while supporting other regions as needed in a follow-the-sun model
Manage service providers external resources that provide operational support
Manage device maintenance for EMEA, and handle vendor TAC and RMA escalations
Authorize and arrange vendor site access as necessary for repairs and troubleshooting
Perform vendor governance/ oversight for incident response and resolution, problem management, and capacity managment
Engage with Engineering/Architecture counterparts to document operational requirements for new technologies, products, and carrier services
Support bank-wide strategies including data center consolidation and cloud migration
Provide hands-on troubleshooting support as needed to augment the service providers teams
Drive process improvements


What we value

Strong foundation in network technologies, spanning network routing/switching, security solutions, DNS, load balancers, carrier services, voice and collaboration tools
Extensive network troubleshooting and incident management experience
Familiarity with network latency monitoring, element management systems, event correlation, and network performance management tools such as Splunk, Netreo, ThousandEyes, and NetBrain
Tenacity and uncompromising standards when it comes to safeguarding the integrity of the network
Self-driven and ability to deliver with minimal supervision
Exceptional client focus
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written


Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent experience
At least ten years experience in network operations
Advanced Technical certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Infoblox, Zscaler, Arista, etc.) a plus
Experience in the financial services industry strongly preferred
