Job Description

Req ID : 1686093

Even when you're on vacation, you can't help it. From the terrace at your holiday address you are looking at that luxurious marina. Is there a yacht that makes your heart beat faster? Yes! And when a superyacht subtly, almost gracefully glides through the water, you know that you failed again in leaving your work at home. However, it's all about balance, right?

Tasks

As a Naval Architect you are responsible for developing and specifying the conceptual design. The focus is on the highest performance of the superyacht, at the lowest capital and operating costs and the pursuit of the lowest emissions required for a specific performance.

Your work includes:

  • You are a part of the concept design of a luxury yacht and its development. This concept design is based on the requirements of our customer, taking into account the applicable laws and regulations.
  • You make advanced stability calculations, including general plans and drawings for weight determination, construction and design
  • In collaboration with other disciplines, you are part of the pre-contract phase and you are able to explain and present a concept design as sales support to our (inter)national customers.

Requirements

You have at least five years of relevant experience in yacht and shipbuilding. You are creative, you think in possibilities rather than in limitations and you like to stay up-to-date on new developments within our dynamic world. You have the ability to convert the wishes and requirements of our customer into a concrete design. For that, you use your knowledge of feasibility, international shipping legislation and safety regulations.

In addition, you preferably have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Naval Architecture preferably with both theoretical and practical knowledge of hydrostatics, stability, hydrodynamics, construction and strength theory
  • Excellent knowledge of calculation and drawing software
  • You have strong communication skills in English, both in speaking and writing. Dutch is a preference

Benefits

  • Excellent primary and secondary working conditions
  • Challenging projects within ship and yacht building and offshore
  • Development is important in our business, which is why we support and encourage you in your personal development
  • Personal contact and clear communication
  • Relocation support

Are you ready for a new challenge and do you think that this role is a perfect match for you? Or have you just become curious about the possibilities Mobeco can offer you? Please contact us.
