The Senior Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the effective utilization of the maintenance team to address plant processes equipment and facility upkeep. With a One Team One Mission approach this position collaborates across all shifts and with multiple departments (Utilities Production Planning Safety) to support consistent production minimize downtime and enforce HACCP USDA and food safety protocol all while providing continued growth opportunities to our team members. Supervisory Responsibility: This position will be responsible for supervising 1020 Maintenance team members are the TX facility. Reports to: Maintenance & Utilities Manager
Essential Functions: Leads and manages the highly diversified activities of Maintenance teams and Apprentices to track performance of the teams planned repairs/projects and preventative maintenance. Ensures effective response to line breakdowns. Leads team that Investigates and completes failure analysis on work order challenges and works through appropriate actions with teams to prevent future breakdowns. Provide a safe environment for continued growth. Ensuring teamwork/cooperation among employees. Effectively resolving issues problems and complaints. Maintaining successful personal development through training opportunities. Maximizing team member job performance while maintaining safety procedures and policies. Assists with new projects: Provides cost estimates scope of work time frame warranties etc. and provides monthly progress reports. Ensures compliance of company policies and procedures: Safety regulations GMPs SOPs SSOPs HACCP and SQF. Member of HACCP Team. Provides backup support to Maintenance / Utilities Manager and Supervisors: Fills in for manager during absences and rotates weekend PM coverage for supervisors as needed. Providing cross functional support with the utilities department.
Required Qualifications: Seven or more years experience in an Industrial Mechanics/related position OR an Industrial Mechanics degree/equivalent technical diploma and 5 years plant maintenance experience. Five years in a leadership and/or project management role Strong interpersonal skills to include professional oral and written communication a teamfocused approach and the ability to model composure/make decisions in stressful situations. After one year this position will be required to achieve operator 1 certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center. After 3 years this position will be required to achieve operator 2 certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center. After 5 years this position will be required to fill in for Utilities Supervision as need.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in food manufacturing facilities (esp. poultry) Regulatory compliance knowledge including USDA regulations HACCP GMP and Food Safety (SQF) Strong computerized maintenance management system knowledge Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Work Environment: Primarily office environment with requirement to work in wide variations in environment temperature (40degree Freezers 32degree coolers 40degree production area wet cold environment); noise slippery floors and moving equipment in operations setting. Physical Demands: Position will include extensive standing sitting lifting climbing ladders wearing factory required equipment while working in production walking visual responding quickly to sounds and driving. Position Type: This is an exempt role; may be asked to change schedule and work offshifts. Travel: Some travel may be required in this position to assist in other facilities. (Less than 5%)
