Job Description
We are trying to source Sr. Mainframe System Programmer for our direct client for a Long Term Onsite position at New York City NY. We need Senior Mainframe Programmer who will manage install patching upgrade and administration of Mainframe Systems.
It is a Long Term Onsite position at New York City NY.
Primary responsibility will include:
Ongoing maintenance (install patching upgrades administration etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g. database transaction server security management scheduling report distribution etc.) and UNIX Systems Services.
Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.
Experience / Preferred Qualifications
The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
10 years of experience working with z/OS JES2 SMP/E TSO IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS IEFBR14 etc.) program product installations working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
Working knowledge of CICS IMS DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
Working with an enterprise wide large scale implementation.
Excellent communications skills (Oral and written) interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.
Education
Bachelor s degree or 10 years of experience in relevant technical field is required.
