SQL Database Administrator (DBA) OnPremises and Azure/Cloud Experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both onpremises and Azure/cloud environments to join our dynamic team.

• Responsible for managing and maintaining our SQL Server databases in both traditional onpremises infrastructure and cloudbased platforms.
• Ensuring the availability performance security and scalability of our database systems while collaborating with crossfunctional teams to support and optimize our applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design implement and maintain SQL Server databases in both onpremises and Azure/cloud environments considering factors such as performance scalability security and high availability.
• Perform database installation configuration and upgrade activities in both onpremises and cloud environments ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
• Implement backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies for SQL Server databases leveraging both onpremises solutions and cloud services such as Azure SQL Database Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure Backup.
• Monitor and optimize database performance in both onpremises and cloud environments analyzing query execution plans identifying bottlenecks and recommending and implementing performance tuning strategies.
• Proactively manage database security including user access management data encryption and vulnerability assessments following best practices for both onpremises and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to assist in the design and optimization of database schema indexes and queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve databaserelated issues such as connectivity problems performance degradation and data integrity concerns ensuring minimal downtime and impact on business operations.
• Stay updated with the latest trends technologies and best practices in SQL Server onpremises infrastructure and cloud platforms (particularly Azure) and propose and implement improvements to enhance database performance reliability and security.
• Create and maintain database documentation including data models database schemas and configuration details ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including developers system administrators and network engineers to support application deployments upgrades and integrations .

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with handson experience in managing SQL Server databases in both onpremises and Azure/cloud environments.
• Indepth knowledge of SQL Server database administration including database design installation configuration performance tuning backup and recovery and security.
• Strong understanding of onpremises infrastructure as well as experience working with cloud platforms particularly Azure.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Database Azure SQL Managed Instance Azure Backup and other Azure services relevant to database administration.
• Also experience with TSQL ETL PowerShell; familiarity with VMWare to do some basic functionality for call coverage;
• Experience with hybrid environments managing SQL Server databases that span onpremises and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in diverse environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
• Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with evolving technologies and industry trends related to onpremises and cloudbased database administration.
