SQL DBA

Job Title: Sr. Microsoft SQL Database Administrator

Location: New York 12078

Duration: 08 Months (Possibility of extensions)

Job Description:

• Provide Primary DBA (Database Administration) responsibilities including support of the various application development teams through advising on design implementing solutions and optimizing databases for the applications.
• Working as a MS SQL Server (Microsofts Database offering) expert for the firm
• Work closely with Engineers across all Business Units to design develop and optimize databases for diverse application workloads.
• Provide support for Database (RDBMSs) standardization programs from design development and implementation.
• Installation configuration upgrade and maintenance of DBMS environment
• Design and implement database security controls in order to safeguard firms data.
• Provide production support capacity planning and work on building the database infrastructure globally.
• Manage various OS and database specific upgrades on Windows/Linux environment
• Build selfservice and automation tools using scripts/programs (ex. Powershell) in order to reduce manual processing in providing lowtouch offerings
• Working closely with Microsoft Engineering and Product support teams to provide feedback as well as new feature requirements as per the firms development needs

Basic Qualifications:

• Required Technical Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field and 5 years of experience in a related role
• 5 plus years in Database design Replication Stored procedures SQL performance and tuning and all aspects of highvalue add applications database support.
• 5 plus years Relational Database development troubleshooting design for highly concurrent applications
• Ability to partner with application developers to negotiate and confidence to influence and promote database standardized solutions
• Excellent analytical skills in understanding complex issues and devising specific database solutions for global applications
• Experience with highly transactional system
• Detailed knowledge of Always On and Clustering
• Has worked migrating SQL Servers from on premise to Cloud (AWS specifically a plus)
• Ability to set up configure and monitor SQL Server replication with complex patterns
• Skilled in evaluating and tuning sql for performance enhancement

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field and 5 years of experience in a related role
