WRK digital are delighted to be shortlisting for a Software Engineering Manager to support a Head of Software Engineering in supporting a growing team of developers who are working on in-house developed systems for an ambitious technology driven business in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

We are looking to talk to Software Engineering Managers who can demonstrate strong leadership but also have an excellent technical background and be comfortable participating in technical discussions with experience of implementing modern Software Development best practice and agile ways of working.

You will be passionate about designing best of breed, robust code while providing technical architecture knowledge. The development team are creating innovative Warehousing and Transport software solutions using .NET and SQL Server as well as supporting and enhancing a small number of legacy systems all using the SCRUM framework. You will be responsible for release quality and ensuring coding standards are both implemented and kept up to date in line with current trends.

The role of the Software Engineering Manager entails the leadership and management of a team of 15 UK based Developers and off-shore resources in Europe and China.

Your primary responsibility is coordinating multiple sprint teams to achieve high output. The role will include guidance, mentorship, and coaching to the 4 highly efficient and cohesive sprint teams. You will be carrying out 1-2-1s, mapping out personal growth for all individuals, identifying opportunities to cross-train and recruitment.

You'll be a great communicator and someone who can communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients, providing regular updates on product progress. You will be working day to day with the Software Development Team Members, QA Lead, QA Analysts, DBAs, Project Managers and Business Analysts. As well as, the senior leadership team and project stakeholders including internal and external customers.

There's a starting salary of 70,000pa + 5500 Car allowance + an Employer Pension contribution and a range of flexible benefits including a health and wellbeing plan. There is a holiday allowance of 25 days + bank holidays and they are business who are determined to bring a good balance to your working life. This position is available for Software Engineering Leaders happy to spend a minimum of 1 day a week at a Bradford HQ. There is parking onsite.
