Highly motivated and energetic person skilled in developing software for PCbased and embedded control systems. The Software Engineer is responsible for software design activities relating to the development of industrial test systems. He or she will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- The Software Engineer will design analyze and test application software for manufacturing product testing or production control systems. This includes the following activities:
- Design debug and test applications using .NET framework and C#.
- Contribute to architecture and design of new and existing systems.
- Work with systems that interoperate with embedded real time controllers PLCs and automated equipment.
- Design intuitive user interfaces using WPF following MVVM design principles.
- Design and implement unit tests and perform dynamic testing.
- Communicate with users management and other technical teams to collect requirements and describe features.
- Represent the Software Development team in project meetings.
- Debug existing applications and support customers both remotely and in the field.
- Other duties as requested by FEI management.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 or higher.
- 35 years of relevant experience minimum of two years application development utilizing .NET framework.
- Proficient in applying OOD principles.
- MS SQL
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills. Ability to represent FEI in a professional manner to customers and suppliers
Preferred
- Experience with SQL database design debug an
- Experience with web frameworks such as ASP.NET Core is a plus.
- Knowledge of dynamic testing and unit testing principles
- Embedded C programming and familiarity with realtime Linux.
- Familiar with industrial Ethernet protocols (Modbus TCP/IP OPCUA).
- Familiar with electronics and circuit boardlevel hardware.
