Smart Grid Command Center Network Engineer

• Hands-on experience in supporting Smart Grid Command Center

Infrastructure Process and Reporting

• Monitor core alerts for all operating companies for their AMI, DACR and VVO Telecom Networks.
• Monitor using specific Network Monitoring Software Megasys, Telenium, Solar Winds
• Co-ordinate with IT Infrastructure and Network Monitoring teams.
• Coordinate with operating unit teams
• Coordinate with AMI Vendor as needed.
• Support sustainability of security control framework and audit management processes.

AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Network Monitoring

• Monitor alerts from networking devices in tperson AMI networks.
• Monitor for any network issues reported by AMI Vendor.
• Ticket assignment based on incident categorization.
• Update ticket status upon resolution.
• Support Troubleshooting work being done by Operating Unit teams.

DACR (Distribution Automation Circuit Reconfiguration) and VVO Telecom Network Monitoring

• Monitor alerts from networking devices in tperson DACR and/or VVO networks.
• Monitor for any network issues reported by Grid Operations (through PowerOn or PI System).
• Ticket assignment based on incident categorization.
• Update ticket status upon resolution.
• Support Troubleshooting work being done by Operating Unit teams.

Identify and Troubleshoot poor or non-communicating network.

• Identify discrepancies between asset and radio configuration information vs. what tperson radio is reporting from tperson field.
• Analyze tperson information and determine tperson next steps.
• Create an Incident for tperson network asset or network device and assign it to tperson respective owner.
• Verify devices issues: dead, latency, or configuration.
• Monitor authorized and unauthorized access to assets - Radius server authentication reports will be referred.
• At intervals agreed with AEP, create, and publish tperson network performance and analysis reports.

Governance

• Daily/weekly/monthly Reporting as mutually agreed
• Track and report KPIs at mutually agreed intervals
• Attend Governance Meetings with respective Operating Companies.
• Support sustainability of security control framework and audit management processes. Support Audit Requests
