Senior Software Engineer Android (Kotlin, ARCore) (F/M/D)

In this role, you will join the NavVis Mobile Squad and use your deep expertise in Android development to shape the future of NavVis IVION Go for Android. You will leverage the powerful digital twins created with the NavVis VLX as well as our cutting-edge visual positioning technology to create spatially aware user experiences for our manufacturing clients around the world.

NavVis IVION Go is our mobile app for Android and iOS. It is the digital twin in your pocket and a portal that allows you to dive into rich digital data around you wherever you go.

How you will make an impact

• You will work on our mobile app NavVis IVION Go for Android and the NavVis Mobile SDK for Android
• You will take co-ownership of our entire Android codebase, toolchain, and development process
• You will collaborate closely with design, product management, and of course your fellow engineers (across Android, iOS, our C++ cross-platform codebase, and our Positioning as well as our IVION backend)

What will help you succeed in the role

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as an Android software engineer (focus on Kotlin but Java experience should be present)
• Rock-solid knowledge of common Android/Kotlin libraries Coroutines, Jetpack (room, lifecycle, appcompat, livedata, ViewModel), Retrofit, Koin
• Hands-on experience with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Practical understanding of Test and Behavior Driven Development (TDD/BDD) approaches in software development
• Previous experience in mobile app testing (JUnit, Espresso)
• Hands-on experience in handling the entire software development life cycle, including analysis, requirements, software design, code reviews, testing, and deployment
• Previous experience with ARCore, C++/JNI, or in mobile-related multimedia libs or frameworks (OpenCV, MediaCodec API, OpenGL) will be a big plus
