Senior React Java Developer

Summary.

Formpipe is an established and growing document management company with offices in Cambridge Nottingham Stockholm and Copenhagen as well as many other locations around the world.

We specialise in document generation and document archiving for all industry sectors with a particular focus on banking and ERP.

We are currently on a journey of modernisation which includes transforming our existing server and desktopbased applications into a single webbased solution.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled full stack developer with strong React knowledge to join our growing platform team. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming legacy user interfaces into modern efficient and scalable UIs built with React.

Working with your colleagues and an external design agency you will be tasked with analysing the current solutions and liaising with backend teams before designing and implementing the new webbased front end. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of the project from conception to deployment ensuring high performance and responsiveness of the applications.

Although this is primarily a frontend position you will be working closely with a team of full stack Java and React developers so Java experience is highly desirable.

This is a role that will require a driven and motivated individual to continue pushing the project forward and someone who is confident in making decisions and delivering results. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to work as part of an integrated team that can deliver the objectives of the business. With this role you will be given a significant degree of responsibility autonomy and freedom.

We work to a modified form of Scrum and like to work in an agile way but not let agile get in the way.

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Lead the conversion of existing user interfaces to React ensuring highquality standards.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate Java and .NETbased services.
• Participate in code reviews ensuring adherence to best practices and high code quality.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.

Knowledge Skills and Experience.

Essential:

• 3 years of React experience.
• Strong TypeScript skills.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of state management patterns and best practices.
• Experience working in Java / JVMbased languages.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Experience with endtoend testing tools such as Playwright and Selenium.

Desirable:

• 5 years of React experience.
• Experience taking legacy UIs and converting them to modern web applications.
• Proficiency in using build tools like Vite.
• Proficiency with JavaScript development toolchains ESLint Prettier tsconfig etc.
• Experience using Storybook.
• Scala experience (Kotlin or Groovy would also be useful).
• Knowledge of security best practices.
