Responsibilities

The Core Video Team is responsible for building all playback-related functionality in the OTT products. We work closely with the application teams in various Operating Companies to ensure that common functionality is built in a reliable, scalable, and efficient way.

We build a video SDK that our colleagues across OpCos use to achieve effortless video playback on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Samsung TV, LG TV, PlayStation, Xbox, Roku, Chromecast, and other devices.

We are now looking for talented engineers to join us in finding new innovative ways to build features and improve our video players.

Responsibilities:

• Create test plans/packs and execution within Test Trail
• Liaising with project product owners to clarify player behavior
• Provide knowledge and share throughout the team
• Management of test results and reports
• Regular liaisons with project teams to understand test requirements.
• Drive Improvement throughout the team
• Represent the QA team in project/progress/status meetings
• Implement tests to analyze the health of backend video services
• Monitor and implement performance tests for potential bottlenecks
• Mentoring junior testers

Qualifications/Requirements

• 6+ years of experience
• Industry experience and a successful track record in video players testing web, mobile, and Cross TV applications
• Awareness of streaming technology, AV codecs, DRMs
• Familiarity with streaming protocols (HLS/DASH)
• Excellent programming skills in Javascript/Nodejs or equivalent
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test practice, and terminology
• Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills and a focused, determined, proactive attitude
• Experience using Test management tools: ideally TestRail and fault logging tools; ideally GitHub or JIRA
• Strong knowledge of Charles/Fiddler or other debugging proxy tools
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze logs
• Experience with performance/load testing frameworks
• Creative individual who can organize test suites to ensure maximum coverage

Desired Characteristics
