Your Relationships: The Lead Network Security Engineer is required to effectively build and maintain relationships with:
- Senior managers (EM and GM)
- Solution Architects Design Specialists Business Analysts and Solution Delivery Managers in a project context
- Global Technology Services Service Owners and Service Managers
- Third party vendors that provide technology services for the group.
You will be reporting directly to an Engineering Manager as part of the Global Technology Services business unit. Your wider team consists of multiple squads in the Engineering disciplines of Network Security Partner Connectivity Workload Connectivity Software Defined Network Cloud Networking Network Automation and Workforce Connectivity.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development of the roadmap strategy and design for the products and services within your squad
- Provide engineering leadership for other engineers and team members
- Contribute to the strategy roadmap and architecture across all Network services
- Identify and remediate risks and issues within your portfolio of Network services
- Execute and support the Global Technology Services business unit with design engineering and implementation of network security to provide business value across multiple programmes and initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate issues or risks associated with the network security design or solution proposals
- Provide technical consulting and advice to projects to ensure alignment to Cyber Security Network Architecture and operational stability of CBA s network assets.
- Champion engineering principles patterns standards and guidelines across projects and programmes
- Support transitioning target architecture from current to desired state
- Provide feedback on effectiveness of target solution architecture
- Work within a team environment and across business units to complete associated tasks
- Identify and develop plans for emerging Technology that may benefit the Group s strategic direction
- Manage and evaluate overall network performance reliability and scalability; troubleshooting and resolving network and security problems.

Role specific responsibilities:
Lead Network Engineering
- Manage escalation of complex technical issues from suppliers operations and application teams
- Author and maintain detailed network security design documents ensuring accuracy and representation of firewall configuration and deployment of security policy.
- Supporting and implementation of changes outside of regular business hours
- Author complex implementation plans and configuration of network security changes into CBA s network services and devices
- Mandatory knowledge and demonstrated experience of Cisco Switches (Nexus and IOS) Routers and Firewalls.
- Desirable experience in F5 GTM LTM and DNS VMWare NSX and Azure/AWS network security group enforcement policies and firewall management.
- Discovery and validation of network connectivity requirements using enterprise tools such as Algosec vRealise Network Insight Splunk Azure VSTS and AWS VPC flow logs R53 Cloud redirect and Cloudfront SolarWinds Qualys and Infoblox.
- Contribute to the documenting of current infrastructure services.
- Demonstrated understanding and design of core switching and routing technologies such as VXLAN VPN BGP and OSPF.
- Mentoring of Engineers across multiple technologies
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate after hour changes
Application Integration and Infrastructure
- Work with project teams to understand network connectivity between VMware Windows and Linux endpoints.
- Integrating to public cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure and hybrid cloud network integration.
- Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network capacity platform sociability/scalability factors and target architecture
Your Experience:
Essential:
- Experience with technology in a large organization
- Minimum of 10 years experiences within IT Network
- Minimum 6 years of design or architecture experience
