AS is looking for an experienced leader to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The Senior Engineer will work independently on several concurrent design and construction projects as well as prepare contract papers and specifications for complicated building systems. This includes complex computations systems analysis and quality control of completed projects field/construction coordination activities.

Responsibilities

  • Independently completes calculations and prepares entire designs for heating ventilation and air conditioning systems including full equipment selection for projects of all sizes.
  • Must be knowledgeable with a range of HVAC systems and be regarded a technical expert and resource for the office.
  • Writes specifications and coordinates their preparation with other disciplines.
  • Collaborates with code authorities and other design experts when an interpretation or exception to building rules is needed. Exhibits comprehensive understanding of appropriate construction codes.
  • Has a comprehensive grasp of the building process. Throughout the building process review shop drawings and answer queries.
  • Conducts system analysis and comparisons based on economic and functional concerns.
  • Produces due diligence and feasibility studies to satisfy customer requirements for systems of varying complexity.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVAC field.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
  • PE registration required.
  • Must understand appropriate codes and LEED requirements.
  • CAD required; Revit preferred.
