Salient currently has a career opportunity for a Senior Business Process and Automation Analyst BPAA ). The Senior BPAA works with business stakeholders at all organizational levels to develop innovative process improvement solutions. To achieve this, the Senior BPAA is responsible for facilitating discovery workshops to understand and document the as-is processes, then applying evaluation criteria to prioritize and determine candidates for improvement and automation. The BPAA will guide complex projects and work with technical groups to implement selected processes leveraging various Automation software. The BPAA helps define process metrics, KPIs, and SLAs that allow the business to measure and track process outcomes to ensure the process is helping achieve overall company goals. The winning candidate will also have experience in Business Architecture and assisting organizations in building a hierarchical view of their organization.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Help us further develop our methodology for aligning process outcomes with corporate goals.
  • Learn Salient s proprietary Insights and Automation Compass tools and incorporate those into your analysis efforts
  • Facilitates workshops and interviews customers, users, and stakeholders on the process to understand the scope/need, applying process and analytical skills to develop solution proposals
  • Elicits current processes using interviews, document analysis, process workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, user stories, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from actual underlying needs.
  • Uses extensive analytical abilities and technical skills to evaluate alternative approaches and to recommend the most feasible and economical solutions Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver or contribute to the following project artifacts as needed: Business Process, Assumptions, Constraints, Process Flows, User Stories, Business Rules, etc.
  • Diagrams and leverages current and future state models to document target processes clearly with an action plan to drive transition to future process Partners with subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine the improvements on current processes
  • Works with stakeholders to identify process metrics, KPIs, and SLAs for measuring process improvement
  • Facilitates UAT activities for process changes
  • Performs continuous reviews to align processes, KPI s, SLAs, etc., with changing business conditions
  • Contributes to the definition, development, implementation and maintenance of the business process improvement project methodology to be employed

Required skills, abilities, and certifications

  • Must have experience creating swimlane diagrams using business process modeling notation (BPMN)
  • Must possess strong communication skills able to speak to large audiences and to leaders at all levels of the organization. Able to adapt vocabulary and style for each situation; able to represent complex ideas with effective documents and visuals and to adapt presentations to the expectations and background of the audience
  • Works well under pressure and keeps composure in stressful situations. Must have proven ability to build positive professional relationships
  • Self-motivated decision-maker who can inspire and motivate others with strong, pragmatic and real-world problems solving skills
  • Ability to efficiently gage the audience in each situation and determine appropriate line of questioning to gain the process knowledge from individual and groups
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills - able to work effectively with others on common tasks; build rapport, gain support, instill confidence, take actions which respect the needs and contributions of others; find common ground; negotiate win-win solutions; share credit with others; all while achieving the objectives of both the team and stakeholders
  • Must have ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Six Sigma, Lean, APQC or other process improvement framework certification
  • Experience with iterative or Agile project management methodologies
Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications
  • Five or more years of Process Analysis experience
  • Experience with using IBM Blueworks Live is highly desired
