Senior Backend Developer Typescript

We are a team of 41 enthusiastic and talented people from many different nationalities working together on the next generation car marketplace. Our office is based in Zrich Switzerland but our teams are working from different countries.

Join our team as a Senior Backend Developer and help us take our platform to the next level. Were seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our product team of 14 with 7 engineers working from Zrich and Belgrade. We take pride in our fast pace and execution excellence.

At GOWAGO we have a cuttingedge technology stack that is constantly evolving. Our stack includes:

• Main application build with NestJS
• Several microservices and Lambda functions written mostly in Typescript
• Our backend is mostly hosted on AWS and we have modern CI/CD pipelines automatedvtesting and infrastructure as code
• We are using managed versions of Postgres Elasticsearch Redis etc.
• The frontend is written in Typescript using the Next.js framework and hosted on Vercel

Tasks

Your responsibilities include the following tasks:

• Plan and implement new features on the backend in Typescript (or whatever other language is better suited for the task)
• Come up with a sustainable and performant new architecture and decide on the right technology for the job
• Help solving hard problems the engineers in the team are facing and perform rigorous peerreviews on the pull requests
• Ensure that the codebase follows best practices including unit integration and e2e testing
• Collaborate with the product teams and business stakeholders to define and create new amazing features
• Monitor and maintain the current infrastructure

Requirements

The following qualities are a must:

• Eager to work in a young team with a lot of freedom flexibility and responsibility
• 5 years of experience working with web technologies
• Solid knowledge of modern backend architecture
• Very passionate about coding and technology in general
• Indepth knowledge of Typescript and proficient in web technologies
• Engineering mindset
• Fluent English speaker

Having the following qualities helps but is not strictly necessary:

• Setup new infrastructure elements on AWS as code
• Likes cars and is interested in the transportation and mobility of the future
