We are looking for a Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our central AI Planning Team as part of sennAI department. The departments mission is to achieve Automated & DataDriven Road Logistics. Were a large diverse and multidisciplinary group of ML&AI engineers data scientists backend/frontend engineers and technical product people that are passionate by the new AIempowered digitalization wave that is changing our world. sennAIs purpose is to build proprietary technology that can automate sales brokerage and other business related activities. Such automation can enable a flywheel where data acquisition and revenues grow exponentially with one another. The scope of our teams is creating bestinclass predictive analytics services while approaching ML Engineering in an holistic endtoend fashion: from best practices in ML modelling until engineering excellence around our MLOps Platform that lifts the developer experience to a different realm.

Every day we acquire 3M new realtime data points (augmenting by the day!) about the road logistics industry in Europe. This data is used to build the future of logistics marketplaces where pricing optimization loadtocarrier recommendation load search and network optimization happen in an automated fashion.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Apply optimization and data science concepts to solve problems like network optimization truck routing load suggestions tour planning and load bundles among others;
• Define the new stateoftheart for AI Planning challenges in the road logistics services;
• Develop optimization (e.g.: MIP SAT PBO) and/or reinforcement learning expertise beyond basic library usage mentor and be mentored by other team members;
• Prototype and subsequently operationalize innovative dataintensive endtoend artificialintelligencebased decision engines to solve largescale combinatorial optimization problems following the latest best practices on AI/MLOps;
• Enforce the best principles in AI System Design by balancing the feedback loop on data exploitation and data acquisition follow the 80/20 ruling focus on the right metric in every design decision and once a shippable amount of value is created go live evaluate learn and iterate;
• Demonstrate your leadership skills and manage an Artificial Intelligence based project or product which you will define through frequent crossfunctional interactions with your peers as well with experienced logistics professionals and Technical Product Owners among other stakeholders;

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A highly motivated individual with excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills;
• M.Sc or PhD in a quantitative field and/or working experience as Artificial Intelligence/Planning/Algorithm Engineer;
• Knowledge of constraint based local search and/or constraint programming incl. experience with Mathe matical Programming tools such as Gurobi SCIP CPLEX LocalSolver ORTools or similar;
• Experience with working on discreteevent simulation modeling and Operations Research (OR) projects in a realworld setting (i.e. OR in productiongrade systems);
• Tshaped mindset: actual expertise on a single area but the ownership/willingness to contribute to the product end to end in order to ensure a healthy value creation chain;
• Teamaholic. We dont believe in superheroes but rather in superteams: teams that own products and are the single unit of work :)
• Proficiency in Python with ability to translate ideas into prototypes and prototypes into production; Fluent written and verbal communication in English;

Bonus:

• Deep knowledge of the theory and expertise on the application of Mathematical Optimization Operations Research and Machine Learning;
• Solid Python and software engineering skills including best practices like CI/CD and Git; Proven experience in contributing to artificial intelligence engineering teams in industry (2 yrs.); Experience on AI/MLOps in modern cloud systems (preferrably AWS);
• Experience with Agile philosophies (e.g.: Scrum Scrumban Kanban XP) and project management tools (e.g.: ADO JIRA);
