Smarter HR Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to assist our Land Development and Acquistionbased client to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions processing payroll reconciling account balances and bank statements maintaining the general ledger and preparing monthend close procedures. This roles duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Verify allocate post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Produce errorfree accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Responsible for generating monthly financial reports
  • Assist CPA with related job duties
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Process companywide payroll
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process
  • Coordinate and direct budgeting procurement and investment activities
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Maintain an uptodate record of company insurances (workers comp auto property liability)
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Support monthend and yearend close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles


Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant Controller Accounting Supervisor or related role
  • Indepth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Tax experience
  • 57 Years or Accounting or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/yearend close process
  • Handson experiences with accounting software packages like QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Experience with Payroll processing
  • Auditing experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA certification or pursuing (Preferred)


Responsibilities Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process. Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger. Bring the books to the trial balance stage. Compile and maintain spreadsheets for company tax accounts. Maintain schedule and payments of all of all project general liability insurances. File annual no franchise tax reports. Quarterly TWF reports and associated payments. Reconcile payments made for invoices in each development. Send approved invoice submittals out for payment processing. Utilize QuickBooks to create, distribute, and pay company invoices. Submit payments for monthly company bills. Perform partial checks of the posting process. Manage invoice summary spreadsheets for PID and MUD BAN and Bond Submissions. Process company-wide payroll and distribute paychecks(weekly/bi-weekly/bi-monthly). Enter data, maintain records, and launch reports and financial statements. Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner. Assist with various accounting tasks. Requirements 5-7+ Years of Accounting Experience and/or Use of Latest Accounting Principles. Strong understanding of accounting payable/receivable principles. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. Great Data Entry and Data Collection Skills. Must Be Comfortable, Proficient, and Innovative in Operating and Setting-up QuickBooks. Strong Knowledge in utilizing ADP. 2+ Years of Payroll Management & Processing and Invoicing Experience. Hands-on Experience and Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets). Excellent Customer Service Skills. High Degree of Accuracy and Attention to Detail.
