Senior Accountant

Reporting to the CFO and / or the VP of Finance the Senior Accountant will maintain accurate financial records ensure compliance and contribute to the company’s overall financial stability and success. They will play a critical role in integrating two recent acquisitions into one accounting system and process.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements reports and forecasts

• Conduct periodic financial reviews to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement

• Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to management based on financial data

• Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records including accounts payable and receivable general ledger and bank reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles regulatory requirements and company policies

• Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts

• Assist in the development and preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts

• Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic budget projections

• Monitor actual performance against a budgeted target and provide variance analysis

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements

• Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation and support

• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

• Streamline and automate financial processes where possible to increase productivity

• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive process improvements and ensure data integrity

• Job costing and percentage of completion for revenue recognition

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or related field

• Minimum of 35 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on financial reporting and analysis

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and compliance requirements

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams

• Experience in the construction manufacturing production or services industry strongly preferred

• Experience in public accounting

• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance

• Prior experience in process improvement or system implementation projects

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
