Job Description
As a Security Engineer you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization s computer networks and systems. You will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and systems from cyber threats. Your expertise will contribute to the overall security posture of the organization ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in cybersecurity.
Security System Management:
o Design implement and manage security measures and infrastructure including firewalls antivirus systems and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
o Regularly update and patch security systems to protect against known vulnerabilities.
Threat Analysis and Response:
o Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats.
o Respond to security incidents and breaches conduct thorough investigations and implement corrective measures.
o Develop and maintain an incident response plan.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
o Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
o Develop strategies to handle security risks and implement mitigation plans.
Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure that the organization s security policies and practices comply with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001 GDPR or HIPAA.
o Stay updated on the latest regulations and compliance requirements.
Collaboration and Training:
o Work with other IT team members to ensure secure software development and network architecture.
o Educate and train staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
Job requirements
Required Qualifications:
o Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Security or a related field.
o Proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role.
o Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network security.
o Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes and technical security solutions (firewall and intrusion detection systems).
o Familiarity with webrelated technologies and network/web related protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Industry certifications such as CISSP CEH CISM or similar.
o Experience with security systems and tools such as SIEM vulnerability scanners and DLP.
o Knowledge of scripting languages for automation of security tasks.
Personal Attributes:
o Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
o Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
o Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Keen interest in staying abreast of technological advancements and cybersecurity trends.
