Responsibilities:

  • Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist II in the Ridgefield, CT area.
  • The Immunology & Respiratory Diseases department of is seeking a Scientist II to join our Research team in Biomarker Discovery.
  • This is a fast-moving, Pharmaceutical Research environment using cutting edge approaches to bring new drugs to patients with serious immunological and respiratory diseases.
  • The Biomarker Discovery Laboratory works closely with drug discovery, disease biology and other research functions in a matrixed environment supporting biomarker discovery through the application of immunoassays, cell culture and flow cytometry.
  • The team is expert in these techniques and training will be given
  • Perform laboratory duties initially under supervision; participate/assist in the execution of non-routine experiments.
  • Operate and be responsible for laboratory equipment.
  • Communicate own work orally and in writing and provide input for scientific reports.
  • Reports and treats data with a high degree of integrity and ethics.
  • Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner.
  • Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.

Experience:

  • Bachelors' Degree with 2+ years of Research experience in a Biology Laboratory setting or Master's Degree in a relevant Scientific area, e.g., Immunology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment and apparatus
  • Agile in learning new technology and concepts
  • Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
  • Ability to troubleshoot experiments and assays such as ELISA
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an immunology/biochemistry laboratory environment is desirable
  • Required Skills: BIOCHEMISTRY, BIOTECHNOLOGY, CELL CULTURE, IMMUNOASSAYS, LABORATORY EQUIPMENT
  • Additional Skills: IMMUNOLOGY, EXCEL, FLOW CYTOMETRY, EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS
