**Job Title: School Social Worker**
**Location:** Illinois School District
We are currently seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in supporting the social emotional and academic wellbeing of students within our Illinois school district. As a School Social Worker you will play a crucial role in providing counseling intervention services and advocacy to students families and school staff. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on students lives and contribute to a supportive and inclusive school community.
**Responsibilities:**
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address social emotional and behavioral concerns impacting students academic performance and overall wellbeing.
Collaborate with teachers administrators and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies for supporting students social and emotional development within the school environment.
Provide crisis intervention and support to students experiencing emotional distress trauma or other critical incidents.
Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
Advocate for students rights and access to resources including mental health services housing assistance and other community support.
Facilitate workshops and presentations for students families and school staff on topics related to mental health conflict resolution and social skills development.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions progress notes and service delivery.
Requirements
Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
Valid Illinois license to practice as a School Social Worker.
Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or community settings with a focus on addressing social and emotional needs.
Knowledge of counseling theories and evidencebased practices for supporting students mental health and wellbeing.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Commitment to cultural competence equity and social justice in working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
