S/W Technical Writer

Mandatory Technical Skills/Duties & Responsibilities

Excellent command of the English language with writing, copy editing, and proofreading
experience
Document the ROCm software stack, with a focus on the Windows experience
Structure documentation and hierarchically organize content for an enhanced user
experience
Collaborate with technical experts to improve ROCm documentation
Familiarity with DITA XML in a component content management system (CCMS)
Familiarity with Markdown and reStructured Text formats
Experience with HTML, CSS, XSL
Familiarity with tools like SnagIt and Figma to create graphics
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects
Experience working with developer tools such as JIRA, JAMA, and Confluence
Ability to read code in one or more programming languages such as C/C++, Python,
Java, etc
Experience with software APIs documentation using Doxygen
Familiarity with Doxygen/Sphinx publishing pipelines is highly desired
Experience with editing scientific and engineering papers, articles, and guides

Desirable Functional Skills and Academic Credentials

Five or more years of experience with technical writing at software companies
Exceptional candidates with domain-specific expertise will be considered
Familiar with Information Architecture concepts such as user journeys and the ability to
perform tree testing activities
Experience with one or more code review workflows for git-based software development
such as GitHub, Gerrit, Bitbucket, and GitLab

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in technical writing, Computer Science, or Mathematics
