The Engineering Department is seeking a Roadway Engineer to be based out of White Plains NY or Stamford CT offices. This individual will serve a key function in helping our local municipal clients develop and design Complete Streets projects sidewalks and bike lanes linear roadway improvements drainage improvements and other capital improvements projects to make our roadways safer and more efficient for all road users. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of the region.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports specifications plans construction schedules cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D Microstation OpenRoads Designer HydroCAD etc.) and equipment;
Use record documents reports maps drawings engineering plans tests and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics such as hydrology topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
Roadway and utility infrastructure design including roadway geometry grading drainage utility design stormwater management and soil erosion and sediment control.
Coordinate with planners engineers environmental scientists subconsultants and other professionals.
Participate in professional organizations.
Essential Requirements:
25 years experience.
Bachelors degree in civil engineering
Strongly prefer FE/EIT Certification
Must have a valid drivers license
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
Ability to follow directions and work in a collaborative team environment
