Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Management:
Oversee the procurement installation and maintenance of all restaurant equipment.
Develop and implement equipment maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
Conduct regular inspections to identify equipment issues and address them promptly.

2. Repairs and Maintenance:
Coordinate and perform repairs on restaurant equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and develop solutions to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs services and warranties.

3. Vendor Management:
Liaise with equipment suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
Negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimize costefficiency and quality.

4. Team Management:
Supervise a team of technicians responsible for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Provide training and guidance to staff on proper equipment handling and maintenance procedures.

5. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to restaurant equipment.
Implement measures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents related to equipment usage.

6. Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop and manage the equipment maintenance budget.
Identify costsaving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize spending.

7. Emergency Response:
Develop contingency plans for equipment failures and emergencies.
Respond promptly to urgent equipment repair needs to minimize disruption to restaurant operations.


Requirements

1. Education: High School Diploma or related field preferred.

2. Experience:
Proven experience in restaurant facilities management particularly in equipment management repairs and maintenance.
Strong technical knowledge of restaurant equipment including HVAC systems refrigeration units cooking appliances etc.
Experience in supervising and leading a team of technicians.

3. Skills:
Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good communication skills to interact with staff vendors and other stakeholders effectively.
Knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory standards in the restaurant industry.

4. Certifications: Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance and repair are advantageous (e.g. HVAC certification electrical certification etc.).

5. Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software for equipment management and recordkeeping.

6. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repairs.
