We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Analyst to oversee and direct economic analyses of our electric systems, contributing to crucial decision-making processes in a rapidly evolving industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Resource planning specialist, you will:
Economic Analysis and Forecasting:
- Oversee and direct economic analyses of the Company's electric systems.
- Forecast total system fuel and purchased power costs, unit production, and natural gas and coal requirements for fuel procurement, regulatory proceedings, and business plan development.
Market Fundamentals and Resource Planning:
- Perform research supporting market fundamentals analysis.
- Resolve complex pricing, financial, economic, regulatory, or legislative issues.
- Operate and maintain pricing models for forward price curve development, asset valuation, and other resource planning activities.
- Regulatory Support:
- Provide regulatory support on behalf of the Company.
- Prepare written testimony for regulatory filings and respond to data requests supporting resource planning activities.
- Participate as an expert witness in regulatory proceedings.
- Resource Planning Activities:
- Conduct research and provide complex analysis to support resource planning activities.
- Present clear, concise, and accurate reports to consultants, managers, executives, and regulators.
- Mentor and train junior Resource Planning staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in utility production cost modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of energy supply fundamentals and regional market behaviors.
- Proficiency in various modeling, analytical, statistical, monitoring, or reporting software.
- Experience in generation, transmission, gas transportation, wholesale power markets, environmental regulation, and quantitative analysis.
- Strong project management, planning, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
We are seeking candidates with specialization in Utility Generation, encompassing coal, gas, and solar panel domains. A critical requirement for potential candidates is proficiency in utility production cost modeling.
