Resident Engineer

Growing Chicago firm is looking to add a Resident Engineer for their Rockford Illinois area team!

Responsibilities:

• Supervise construction on highway and/or roadway projects throughout areas of Illinois
  
• Provide quality assurance to projects comply with plans/specifications
  
• Maintain accurate records and reports
  
• Communicate directly with clients and contractors; set up meetings as needed
  
• Negotiate change orders
  
• Assist contractor with utility coordination
  
• Monitor project schedule progress
  
• Review contractor progress reports
  
• Coordinate with other agencies and city departments
  
• Oversee field site activities and provide technical guidance
  
• Review/approve contract submittals and contractor payment requests
  
• Participate in contract closeout process
  
• Complete multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor s Degree in Engineering/Construction Management preferred
  
• IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification required
  
• 8 years of inspection experience for bridge highway and roadway projects (including background in field inspection/office engineering)
  
• PE License preferred
  
• Experience managing project team members
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
