Research Associate II Pathobiology

Responsibilities:

• Excellent employment opportunity for a Research Associate II Pathobiology in the Foster City CA area. (onsite)
• The In Vivo Pathology (IVP) team within the Pathobiology Department is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to histology and pathology workflows in support of preclinical in vivo pharmacology studies.
• Support drug development in diverse therapeutic areas such as inflammation fibrosis oncology and virology.
• Provide scientific and technical overview for tissuebased methods that span sample processing assay development whole slide scanning image QC analysis and data reporting.
• A successful candidate will enjoy working in a team; carefully follow scientific protocols and apply meticulous attention to detail.
• Compile both quantitative and quantitative histology data and prepare pathology reports.
• Work closely with project pathologists to organize generate and communicate pathology data.
• Curate digital pathology database to provide organized access to whole slide images.
• Support sample management and laboratory operation activities.
• Whole slide scanning of histology slides for pathologist review or quantitative image analysis.

Experience:

• Bachelors Degree or higher in an area of Biological or Medical Science.
• 2 years of Histology Laboratory or related experience.
• Complete working knowledge of Word Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to interpret communicate and present scientific data.

Beneficial Experience:

• Tissuebased procedures to include IHC and in situ hybridization.
• Hands on experience with in vivo pharmacology model workflows.
• Tissue processing of fixed tissue for histology applications.
• Digital pathology experience including image analysis and database software.
• Experience with statistical analysis software.
• Basic histology procedures including fixed tissue processing embedding and microtomy.
