Position Overview:
The Port Excursions Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling a variety of excursion activities for guests visiting port destinations, often as part of cruise ship or travel company operations. This role involves meticulous planning, efficient scheduling, and excellent communication with excursion vendors and passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
Excursion Planning: Collaborate with excursion vendors and partners to plan and organize a diverse range of port excursions and activities, taking into consideration guest preferences, safety, and local regulations.
Scheduling: Create detailed excursion schedules, factoring in timing, transportation, and any required permits or reservations, to ensure smooth and timely execution.
Vendor Coordination: Establish and maintain strong relationships with excursion vendors, negotiating contracts, and monitoring the quality of services provided.
Guest Consultation: Assist guests in selecting appropriate excursions based on their interests, providing information on available options, pricing, and scheduling details.
Booking and Reservations: Handle the booking and reservation process for guests, ensuring accuracy, availability, and efficient communication with guests and excursion providers.
Documentation: Maintain organized records of excursion data, including guest lists, reservations, vendor agreements, and any necessary permits or licenses.
Communication: Effectively communicate excursion details and updates to guests through various channels, including written materials, presentations, and in-person interactions.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all excursions adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and local laws. Conduct safety briefings and communicate emergency procedures to guests.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate excursion experiences, collecting guest feedback and seeking continuous improvement in quality and guest satisfaction.
Guest Assistance: Be available to answer guest questions, provide guidance, and resolve issues related to port excursions, both before and during the trips.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in excursion planning, tourism, or cruise ship operations is advantageous.
Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in relevant software and booking systems plus but not required.
Knowledge of maritime safety regulations and emergency procedures is a plus.
