Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Data Governance Lead the Program and Functional Analyst will be responsible for both helping to mature and sustain CDKs data governance practices and for supporting data stewards through training education mentoring and support. You will work to ensure that the right quality and security of our data by partnering with stakeholders to design implement and support data management best practices and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

• To act as a program management analyst for the Data Governance program including supporting the following:
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the Data Governance Program Charter
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the Data Governance communication strategy
• Lead execution of the data governance communication strategy including sharing regular updates with relevant stakeholders regarding proposed solutions timelines progress and issues
• Define how data governance decisions and artifacts will be documented and published to the organization.
• Assist in the coordination and facilitation of Data Governance meetings and as applicable working groups sponsored by the Data Governance Council.
• Engage with other internal change controls boards and activities to ensure alignment of proposed and inflight changes that may impact datacentric assets
• Ensure data governance program remains aware of and aligned to policies and practices that affect data from other areas of CDK such as Security Regulatory Risk Compliance and Privacy
• Oversee DGO and/or DGCsponsored projects including managing timelines budgets deliverables resource requirements risks and issues project decisions etc.
• To act as the functional expert on the Data Governance program including supporting the following:
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of relevant data governance practices including data governance processes enterprise/global policies data governance/stewardship metrics etc.
• Develop consistent data management and stewardship practices for documenting data processes data flows system landscapes etc.
• Support data stewards and/or custodians in mapping their data processes data flows and system landscapes; This documentation will cover asis and tobe and will be used to ensure integrity efficiency and availability of data
• Understand and assess available documentation and facilitate discussions to identify and prioritize improvements that will enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies
• Develop and manage consistent practices and processes to identify escalate remediate and report on datacentric issues
• Assist in the creation maintenance and enforcement of a consistent process to identify triage prioritize implement and enforce datacentric technology decisions
• facilitate enterprise requirements efforts for any technology needed or improvements needed to existing technologies to sustainably implement data management standards
• Design develop and deliver training programs to educate data stewards data custodians and other data citizens on data governance practices and their respective data management responsibilities
• Mentor and provide oversight to the organization to ensure that data governance and data stewardship practices are actively followed for relevant data domains and data activities

Required Skills

• Knowledge of business process modeling notations (BPMN EPC BPEL) to document processes
• History of facilitating process workshops that involve eliciting process requirements and liaising with users
• Use logical thought software tools and data analysis techniques to review the information gathered to gain a deep understanding of processes and potential areas for improvement.
• Ability to structure a large amount of information within a process framework.
• Collaborative with various teams/stakeholders within the organization to drive consensus and results

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in information technology business administration math statistics computer science or equivalent years of experience
• 1 years work experience in business analysis or data validation related roles collaborating with different parts of the organization; emphasis on developing and implementing systems that contribute to regulatory reporting or equivalent work in the financial services industry
• Strong project management skills including handling timelines budgets and resource management within the context of data governance initiatives
• Command of data governance and data management best practices tools and disciplines business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
• Strong technical writing skills capable of taking complex technical concepts and making them easily understood
• Comfortable working through ambiguous situations to define precise requirements and priorities and drive outcomes
• High proficiency in using MS Office in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools.
• Experience working with industry standard metadata management tools (i.e. Alation Data Catalog) is a plus
