Patients with Chronic Persistent Mental Illness Bipolar Schizophrenia Schizoaffective Depression NOS Anxiety NOS Personality Disorders Typically staffed with 23 RN s and 2 LNA/MHT Adult Population 1864 with some exception for geriatrics depending on the milieu. Typical Length of Stay 1014 days due to the NH Involuntary commitment Laws. SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Pathways are a 16bed locked psychiatric intensive care unit designated by the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services Division of Behavioral Health as a receiving facility for involuntary patients. It is a Designated Receiving Facility (DRF). Pathways can also admit patients on a voluntary status. It is an adult unit serving patients age 18 to 64. ALOS 69 days SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: In this safe and supportive environment patients receive intensive individual and group therapy. The therapeutic milieu and treatment focuses is on coping skills problem solving assertiveness selfesteem relaxation leisure skills and more. Each client will put together an individualized treatment plan to better manage the life stresses that contributed to hospitalization.
