Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Production of applications/valuations
.
Cost management
.
CVR reporting and forecasting
.
Stock Condition Surveys
.
Minimising cost, maximising value and protecting profit
.
Utilise direct labour and subcontractors to ensure works have labour targets and deliver agreed profit
.
Procurement of subcontractors, materials and plant
.
Resolve any contractual issues from our client and supply chain
.
Ensuring full delivery team is aware of our contractual & commercial requirements
.
Manage cash collection
.
Reporting progress to senior management
.
Agreement of final accounts and completion of required client documentation to facilitate client approval
Job Tasks
Manage the financial aspects of the business from projects and manufacturing facility
.
Manage cost control, utilising cost & value reporting & cash flow forecasting.
.
Produce monthly valuations.
.
Valuing and raising variations.
.
Attending and reviewing pre-contract meetings.
.
Review, comment and agree sub-contract orders
.
Contract costing reviews.
.
Produce labour records & budgets per contract
.
Measure drawings for contract works
.
Produce work in progress figures and schedules
.
Review and authorise supplier invoices
.
Raise sub-contractor orders
.
Agree final accounts
.
Assisting the accounts team to maintain cash flow
.
Advise on credit insurance
.
Review, comment and agree sub-contract warranties
.
Assist the estimating team
Knowledge/Experience:
- Strong background in construction, including projects up to £4m
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Professional Qualification (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
- Extensive experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
- Good knowledge of monthly reporting
- Minimum 3 years of Quantity Surveyor experience
- Surveying: 2 years (required)
- Minimum 5 years of construction industry experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Contractual knowledge and awareness
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Details:
- Full-time, Permanent
- £40,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
