Quality Team Leader - FMCG Manufacturing

A prestigious leader in the packaging sector has a vacancy for a Quality Team Leader. This position will report to the Quality Manager and is based in Pinetown Durban. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction by building and developing lasting relationships with clients

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervision and planning of shift QC Inspectors
  
• Monthly Toolbox Talks with Quality Inspectors
  
• Ensuring QC Inspectors are trained and using the correct Test Methods and Quality Inspection Processes
  
• Ensuring that Products comply with the Specifications
  
• Ensuring all Laboratory and Inprocess Quality Inspection Reports are filled in and signed off and there is corrective action on any nonconforming product.
  
• Conduct ISIR Testing
  
• Ensuring Specifications Master Samples and First Off Samples exist for all Products
  
• Facilitate good teamwork and communication between the Quality and Production Team Members
  
• Liaison with the Quality Manager on recurring nonconforming products and Concessions
  
• Training and Awareness of Packers on Product quality defects and issues and other customer complaints arising
  
• Assist the Production Manager with facilitating resorting and verification of manufacturing defects and participate where required in customer complaint investigations
  
• Verify and log weekly Customer Complaints Customer Returns and InterBranch Complaints on Returns Excel and in SHEQSys
  
• UpdatingManufacturingDefectandResortingRegisters
  
• Alerting Quality Manager of any serious problems developing in Production
  
• Ensuring Quarantine Cage is updated and organized at all times.
  
• Awareness Training of Packers on Product Quality defects and issues identified
  
• Participate in Internal and External Audits
  
• Enforce the Quality H&S and Food Safety Systems and Processes
  

• FMCG experience is essential
  
• Related degree or diploma in Quality/Packaging Technology/Packaging
  
• Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing/lab environment preferably plastics
  
• Possess a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of Shift QC Inspectors
  
• Computer literacy Proficient with Excel Word and Microsoft Outlook (SAP advantageous)
  
• Established proficiency working with SHEQSys
