Public Health Program Director 1

Job Location: Job Type Fulltime; Primarily remote but will be required to attend inperson trainings meetings and at supervisors discretion. The office is located at the Andrew Johnson Tower in Nashville TN

The Tennessee Department of Healths Division of Family Health and Wellness is hiring a Program Manager for the Tennessee Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program (TAPPP). This position will work as part of the team to oversee aspects of the Department of Health and Human Services Title V Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (SRAE).
Responsibilities include:

• Provide essential support including answering programmatic questions and providing technical assistance to subgrantees across Tennessee who participate in the program
• Lead the planning coordination and execution of program initiatives focusing on health equity.
• Conduct regular meetings with subrecipients and staff
• Communicate the program procedures and projects to staff and partners
• Review produce and disseminate datadriven evidenceinformed and equitable resources
• Monitor trends in program uptake with a focus on serving disproportionately burdened populations
• Assist the Program Director with aspects of grant management including monitoring reporting etc.
• Participate in the development execution and monitoring of contracts
• Perform other related duties as required
• Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree and at least three years experience working in public health.
• Substitution of Experience or Education: Additional graduate coursework in a business or healthrelated field may be substituted on a yearforyear basis. Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.

• Strong written and oral communication skills (grant/report writing presentations)
• Experience implementing evidenceinformed strategies
• Experience with evaluation and continuous quality improvement
• Experience conducting trainings
• Experience with healthfocused community outreach
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word Excel Outlook Teams etc.)
• Public health experience with a background in social work community health community outreach etc.
