My client is seeking a Project Architect to join their team to move into the role of the principal architect. Preferred candidates are registered in Ohio, with a minimum of ten to fifteen years of experience to join our firm. This strategic hire is an opportunity for the right individual to leverage their design, management, and leadership skills to be an integral member of our dynamic and growing team, utilizing diverse skill sets to take on the challenges of a growing practice that now includes developing and building our own projects.

As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for all aspects of project design, planning, and execution, including leading the client and project team through complete architectural services from preliminary design through construction administration. Additionally, the ideal candidate will bring in targeted work to the firm.

Our focus is High-End Custom Residential work. We are expanding our niche market to include work with clients on office projects and multi-family projects. Our work ranges from renovations and additions to new, ground-up buildings. You will meet directly with clients and lead projects from start to finish, so you should have excellent abilities to articulate ideas and organize complex projects.

Have the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Have the ability or the desire to learn business development and client relationship strategies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Support principal on projects and the ongoing management of the practice.

Work closely with clients, managing relationships and day-to-day individual project needs.

Be a high level project coordinator directing project goals and objectives while meeting deadlines and client expectations.

Work closely with established Studio Director and a team of designers and consultants from initial programing and design through production of well-detailed and coordinated construction documents.

Prepare architectural plans, diagrams, and data visualization as a project requires.

Define and implement the necessary resources to ensure the design and documentation process goes smoothly.

Set, monitor, and maintain project budgets, work plans, and schedules through all phases of the design process.

Employ a quality control process for milestone submissions.

Participate in business development and marketing activities, including networking.

Participate in preparing proposals and negotiating contracts and fees.

Carry out complete construction administration processes and communications. Suggest ways to improve systems and procedures to create better architectural services.

A qualified candidate will:

Have a professional degree in Architecture, Bachelors or higher, from an accredited architecture program.

Have 10 to 15+ years of full-time work in an architecture firm, with 5 years experience managing internal teams and external consultants.

Have an Ohio Architect license, or NCARB certification.

Have extensive knowledge of construction detailing, with a variety of construction materials in the residential & multi-family field.

Have strong creative design capabilities and comprehensive understanding of building and municipal codes.

Have high proficiency and technical knowledge in ArchiCAD or Revit (required), AutoCAD, Sketchup and Twin Motion and understanding of word processing, spreadsheet and other basic technological skills.

Have experience negotiating project scope, fees, agreements, and contracts, managing project Financial performance, and ensuring financial responsibility for projects.

Have strong time management and organizational skills while working on multiple tasks on multiple projects.

Be able to provide their own reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.

Additional qualifications that would be highly desirable:

Strong familiarity with Residential and Ohio Building Code.

Knowledge of residential construction materials and details.

Based in the Dayton/Cincinnati area.
