Job Description
The Project Safety Coordinators goal is to offer a safe and healthy workplace while also administering the Client Safety Program in a way that fosters trust and teamwork among all employees.
  • Proactively meet with GC Safety Managers to ensure goals are accomplished for improving both companies safety cultures.
  • Understand and adhere to all client rules procedures and corporate safety initiatives.
  • Ensure complete compliance with Client Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Be the projects EHS contact.
  • Maintain training records and facilitate projectspecific safety and equipment training.
  • Facilitate the incident investigation process to guarantee root cause identification remedial action implementation and the sharing of project learnings.
  • Create a safe workplace by building excellent connections with office staff project management general contractors subcontractors and trade workers.
  • Facilitate the execution of the sitespecific health and safety strategy.
  • Assist the project foreperson in identifying and mitigating high risk activities. Prepare evaluate and/or approve job hazard analyses and pretask planning.
  • Conduct and officially document project safety audits and oversee the resolution of any action items identified. Ensure that the client complies with all EHS Program federal state and local requirements on the project site.
  • Facilitate the onsite drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Participate in all meetings as required.
  • Facilitate the implementation of work control permits and assessment procedures.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Must possess one of the following Board of Certified Safety Professionals designations:
    • CST CHST OHST STSC ASP
  • Have a minimum of three years of qualified project safety experience on similarly sized projects with similar types of construction.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently make decisions and follow through on all assignments.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of EHS programs practices and regulations on the project.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize personal workload and recognize priority conflicts and seek guidance for resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word and Outlook).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment is required.
  • Ability to multitask think critically and problemsolve is required.
  • Must possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have a high level of competency to read/write/speak English interpret safety documentation and communicate with coworkers.
  • A valid drivers license and good driving record are required.

  • Local to job site is preferred
